What is Ragui? It is a quest for collecting gems to attain high scores, unlock new areas and generally waste time. Arrange the gems to form a row or column of at least three of the same shape and color to collect them. Each swap of gems uses up a movement point, but collecting three gems earns it back. Collect more gems to earn more movement points. Each area of Ragui has its own rules for advancing through levels. In classic Ragui the level advances after a certain number of moves. Some areas advance level on attaining a certain number of points.
When starting Ragui for the first time, only the classic area is available — additional areas are unlocked by completing objectives such as clearing levels and reaching certain scores. To make game play more difficult (but also more rewarding) go to the configuration screen and select average or hard.
Level advancement is limited by the game difficulty. Easy games end at tenth level and average games end at twentieth level while hard games do not have a fixed limit.
The basic action in the game is to swap a gem with one of its neighbors. When advancing in level additional options become available, such as swapping between the leftmost and rightmost columns, or swapping with any other gem in the same row or column.
Changes since the last version include completely rewritten gem movement, ability to resume a level after restarting Ragui, advanced gem movement options in classic, tweaks to gems and backgrounds, and various bug fixes (most recently a bug relating to the level limits for easy and average games).
Please note that not all game areas exist. Trying to load a game area that does not yet exist will silently fail. To unlock Highlands complete Classic through level 10 and Lowlands is unlocked by completing Classic through level 20. Other unlocks are coded in (and are saved) but their respective areas do not yet exist.
To be released for iOS and android, though currently available as a public beta for android. Download the beta for android and try it out. We appreciate all feedback.
